Unlike conventional online document converters that require you to upload your files to a cloud server, pdfsplit.in processes 100% of PDF documents locally in your web browser memory using WebAssembly and JavaScript. No document content, page image, text, or metadata is ever transmitted over the network to us or any third party.
1. Information We Do Not Collect(हम आपका कोई भी व्यक्तिगत डेटा या फ़ाइल एकत्र नहीं करते)
Because of our client-side architecture:
- We do not receive or store your uploaded PDF files.
- We do not have access to passwords entered to unlock encrypted documents.
- We do not extract, store, or sell any personal data contained within documents (e.g. Aadhaar numbers, PAN, bank account numbers, balances, or marks).
- We do not require user accounts, emails, or phone numbers.
2. In-Memory Decryption & Memory Safety
When you enter a password to split an encrypted PDF (such as an e-Aadhaar or SBI statement), the decryption takes place strictly within your browser's temporary working RAM. The moment you close the browser tab or click "Split Another PDF", the in-memory array buffers are released and cleared.
3. Local Storage Usage
We use standard browser localStorage solely to remember your preferred language selection (such as Hindi or English) across page visits. No document data is ever written to persistent storage.
4. Anonymous Analytics
We collect aggregate, non-personally-identifiable usage counters (such as total number of splits performed and browser types) to maintain service reliability. We strictly prohibit logging of document file names, file contents, or identifiable parameters.
5. Compliance with Indian IT Act
pdfsplit.in is designed to comply fully with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP), 2023. Because we do not ingest or retain personal data, your privacy rights under Indian law are natively protected.
